Presentation Abstract The aim of this presentation is to show the findings of preliminary research conducted in Boumbane in Senegal to contribute to the joint research, using anthropological methods for about one week from the end of December 2024. The research covered topics such as the history of the village, household surveys, the activities of women's groups, and women's cash-earning activities. There are four women's cooperative groups in the village, each of which has been involved in soap-making and microfinance. However, this has not led to sustained activities. Previous research has pointed out that both the experience of 'success' and 'failure' in development projects are accumulated in communities and groups, and that this experience is then put to use in the next project. In our joint research, we also take this position and carefully listen to the experiences of the community and residents in development projects, which we find important as the basis of the experiences of the residents to date. The presenter has been conducting research on women's groups in Burkina Faso that ran vegetable gardens and their own financial activities since 2008. In this presentation, the presenter will draw on her experience to present the findings of anthropological research conducted in Boumbane village and consider how development projects that are close to the people can be implemented, taking into account various factors such as the situation of local people and social implementation.
