Architectural walking tour with Carole Diop

Since the creation of the architectural walks in 2020, architect Carole Diop has made the city of Dakar her exhibition space. In a hundred or so walks, she has covered more than 800 km to help visitors discover and rediscover the city of Dakar and its history, through its historic landmarks and hidden treasures: from Soweto Square to Independence Square, via the Maginot and Selebe Yoon Buildings, the Thiong School, the Cathedral, the Kermel market, the Cheikh anta Diop University and more.

Carole Diop will offer one architectural tour, focusing on the history and architecture of the Plateau, the historic heart of the capital.

Balade architecurale avec Carole Diop

Depuis la création des balades architecturales en 2020, l’architecte Carole Diop a fait de la ville de Dakar son espace d’exposition. En une centaine de promenades, elle a parcouru plus de 1000 km en vue de faire découvrir et redécouvrir la ville de Dakar et son histoire, à travers ses monuments historiques et ses trésors cachés: de la place Soweto à celle de l’Indépendance, en passant par le Building Maginot et celui de Selebe Yoon, l'École de Thiong, la cathédrale, le marché Kermel, L’université Cheikh Anta Diop, etc.

Carole Diop proposera un parcours architectural, axé sur l'histoire et l'architecture du Plateau, cœur historique de la capitale.
