Joonhwa, CHO is a Senior Research Fellow of Asia-Africa Center at Seoul National University Asia Center and is also the founding member of Asia-Africa Center which was launched in 2022. In between, he has been a research professor at the Department of Administration at Yonsei University (Mirae Campus) and a lecturer at the Division of African Studies at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, South Korea. He has widely published on why South Korea is interested in Africa and its modalities in DRC, Rwanda, Uganda and Ethiopia, compared to China, Japan and North Korea. His interests include African politics of election, conflict resolution and Africa’s foreign policy.
