Marisa Ramos Gonçalves is a researcher and lecturer at the Center for Social Studies at the University of Coimbra, with a PhD in history and human rights from the Faculty of Law, Arts and Humanities at the University of Wollongong, Australia. She is teaching in the doctoral program on "Postcolonialisms and Global Citizenship" at the University of Coimbra and currently developing a research project on the history of solidarity relations between Mozambique and Timor-Leste. Between 2007 and 2012, she lived and worked in Timor-Leste as a lecturer and visiting researcher at the National University of Timor Lorosa’e (UNTL) and in the archives of the Post-CAVR Technical Secretariat (Reception, Truth and Reconciliation Commission). Marisa is a member of the International Advisory Board of the National Center Chega! (CNC), a Public Institute and Museum in Timor-Leste dedicated to Memory preservation, Education and Reconciliation.
