Erika Mattio is an archaeologist, journalist and anthropologist. She lives and works in Venice. Member of ASAI (Association for African Studies in Italy). Her doctoral project between the Complutense University of Madrid and the Bicocca University of Milan analyzes the socio-political result of the Chinese presence in the Horn of Africa. She also deals with religious syncretism between Africa and South America, a topic she will discuss in this conference. Author of the books "The last salt caravans, traveling between shipyards, guerrillas and litanies" and "Sheep and Saffron, travel memories in Iran".
