Kisha Bradley is a WRoCAH funded collaborative doctoral award researcher at the University of Leeds. Her PhD project focuses on social relationships of diasporic artists in the UK and how these artists are resourced, nourished and supported and the barriers to these.
I am a creative co-producer collaborating with communities to create environments for artistic expression and taking up space. My practice includes advocating for civil spaces to be equitably shared for joy and nourishment for Black, brown and working-class people. I founded the creative education social enterprise, Brightbox, to address barriers to networks and opportunities, particularly for Global Majority artists.
My takeovers bend the rules to demonstrate how trusting the people drives social change and creative solutions. I am dedicated to challenging institutional norms and influencing policy to enhance participation for under-resourced communities.
I'm excited to get stuck in at YVAN, WRoCAH and the University of Leeds to deepen my knowledge, share what others are doing and influencing policy to embed the practice of Global Majority creative practitioners.
I'm also a passionate advocate for all things wild. We're part of nature, not separate from it.
