The film was shot with the famous family of griots, the Fayes. Kaay Fi (literally: "Come here!") is a look at the world of the sabar and the griots. Shot for the most part at "rue 23" - the inter-generational house of the Faye family. Family life revolves around the sabar. Every event in the life of the Senegalese is accompanied by the rhythm of the sabar.
