Catarina Alves Costa é realizadora e antropóloga, doutorada pela na Universidade Nova de Lisboa com a tese “Camponeses do Cinema. Representações da Cultura Popular no cinema português”.Realizou, entre outros filmes, Orlando Pantera (2025),Margot (2022), Pedra e Cal(2016), Falamos de António Campos(2010),Nacional 206(2009),O Arquiteto e a Cidade Velha(2004) e corealizou Um Ramadão em Lisboa(2019). É Professora Associadada Universidade Nova de Lisboa e presidente do Centro em Rede de Investigação em Antropologia (CRIA). É autora do livro Cinema e Povo (2022, Edições 70).
Catarina Alves Costa is a director and anthropologist, PhD from Universidade Nova de Lisboa with the thesis “Peasants in Cinema. Representations of Popular Culture in Portuguese cinema”. She directed, among other films, Orlando Pantera (2025), Margot (2022), Pedra e Cal(2016), Let's Talk About António Campos (2010), Route 206 (2009), The Architect and the Old Village (2004) and co-realized A Ramadão in Lisbon (2019). She is an Associate Professor at Universidade Nova de Lisboa and President of the Center for Research in Anthropology (CRIA) and the author of the book Cinema and People (2022, Edições 70).
